The Sharp EL-1901 calculator is primarily powered by an AC adapter. Locate the AC adapter port on the side or rear of the calculator and plug in the provided adapter. Connect the adapter to a standard electrical outlet.

For backup or memory retention, the calculator also requires 1 CR2032 battery. Ensure this battery is installed correctly in its compartment, typically located on the underside of the unit, to maintain settings and memory during power interruptions or when the AC adapter is disconnected.

To turn the calculator ON, press the TAN/PA button. The main 12-digit display will illuminate. The secondary 5-line display will show previous entries or be blank if reset.

Check and Correct Function
