3. Eto

Follow these steps to set up your iRig Stream:

  1. Sopọ si Ẹrọ Gbalejo: Use the appropriate cable (USB-C, Lightning, or USB-A) to connect the iRig Stream to your iPhone, iPad, Mac, or PC. The iRig Stream is typically powered by the host device. For extended sessions or if the host device cannot provide sufficient power, connect an optional 5V DC power supply to the "DC IN" port (Figure 2.3).
  2. So Orisun Audio pọ: Connect your line-level audio source (e.g., mixer, keyboard, DJ controller) to the "L INPUT R" RCA inputs on the iRig Stream (Figure 2.1). Ensure the cables are securely connected.
  3. Connect Headphones/Headset: Plug your headphones or a headset (with a TRRS microphone) into the "HEADSET / PHONES" jack (Figure 2.1). This allows for direct monitoring of your audio.
  4. Adjust Mic Gain (if using headset mic): If using a headset microphone, adjust the "MIC" gain control on the side of the iRig Stream (Figure 2.2) to an appropriate level.
  5. Select Mono/Stereo Mode: Use the "MONO / ON" switch (Figure 2.3) to select between stereo input (switch OFF) or mono input (switch ON). For most music sources, stereo is preferred. For voice-only applications, mono might be suitable.
  6. Enable Loopback (Optional): If you wish to mix the audio playing on your host device (e.g., background music from a streaming app) with the incoming audio from your RCA inputs, set the "LOOPBACK" switch to "ON" (Figure 2.3). Set to "OFF" if you only want to stream the incoming RCA audio.

Once connected, operating the iRig Stream is straightforward:

  • Adjusting Input Level: Use the large "LEVEL" knob on the top of the iRig Stream (Figure 2.1) to adjust the overall input gain. Observe the "SIGNAL" LEDs:
    • LOW (Pupa): Signal is too low. Increase the level.
    • OK (Green): Optimal signal level. Aim for this.
    • HIGH (Red): Signal is too high, causing clipping. Decrease the level.
    Adjust the knob until the "OK" (Green) LED illuminates consistently during the loudest parts of your audio. Avoid the "HIGH" (Red) LED to prevent distortion.
  • Ohun Abojuto: The "HEADSET / PHONES" jack provides direct monitoring of the audio being sent to your host device. This allows you to hear exactly what your audience will hear, without any latency.
  • Using Loopback: When the "LOOPBACK" switch is ON, any audio playing on your connected device (e.g., music from Spotify, YouTube, or a backing track) will be mixed with the audio coming into the RCA inputs and sent to your streaming/recording app. This is ideal for playing music alongside your live performance or commentary.

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your iRig Stream, follow these maintenance guidelines:

  • Reduce the output volume from your audio source.
