Ecolink ZigBee Wireless Flood Detection Sensor FLZB1-ECO User Manual

Model: FLZB1-ECO

1. Ifihan

The Ecolink ZigBee Wireless Flood Detection Sensor (Model FLZB1-ECO) is designed to provide early warning of water leaks and potential flooding in your home or property. This sensor utilizes ZigBee technology to communicate with compatible smart home hubs, such as Samsung SmartThings, alerting you to the presence of water before significant damage occurs. Its slim design allows for discreet placement in various locations where water leaks are a concern.

3.1. Fifi sori batiri

The sensor requires one (1) CR123A battery, which is included. To install or replace the battery:

  1. Gently twist the top and bottom halves of the sensor to separate them.
  2. Insert the CR123A battery into the battery compartment, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  3. Align the halves and twist them back together until securely closed.

3.2. Pairing with a Smart Home Hub

The Ecolink FLZB1-ECO sensor uses ZigBee protocol for communication. Follow these general steps to pair it with your compatible smart home hub (e.g., Samsung SmartThings):

  1. Place your smart home hub into pairing or discovery mode. Refer to your hub's specific instructions for this process.
  2. With the battery installed, the sensor should automatically attempt to join the ZigBee network. Some hubs may require you to press a button on the sensor (if available) or trigger it (e.g., by briefly touching the probes with a wet cloth) to initiate pairing.
  3. Once successfully paired, the hub's application should confirm the addition of the new device.

3.3. Ibi sensọ

Strategic placement is crucial for effective flood detection. Consider areas prone to water leaks:

  • Labẹ awọn iwẹ (idana, baluwe)
  • Nitosi awọn igbona omi
  • Lẹ́yìn àwọn ilé ìgbọ̀nsẹ̀
  • Under washing machines or dishwashers
  • Nínú àwọn ìsàlẹ̀ ilé tàbí àwọn yàrá ìṣiṣẹ́

Place the sensor on a flat surface where water would first accumulate. The gold-plated probes on the bottom of the device must be in direct contact with any pooling water for detection.

4. Awọn ilana Iṣiṣẹ

Once installed and paired, the Ecolink FLZB1-ECO sensor operates automatically. When the four gold-plated probes on the bottom of the sensor come into contact with water, the device will detect the presence of moisture.

Within approximately 2 seconds of detecting water, the sensor will transmit an alarm signal to your connected smart home hub. Your hub will then execute any pre-configured actions, such as sending notifications to your smartphone, triggering other smart devices, or activating an audible alarm, depending on your system's setup.

To test the sensor, carefully place it on a damp cloth or a small amount of water. The sensor should trigger an alert through your smart home system. Remove the sensor from the water and dry the probes thoroughly after testing.

5. Itọju

5.1. Batiri Rirọpo

The sensor is designed for long battery life. When the battery level becomes low, your smart home hub should notify you. Replace the battery as described in Section 3.1. Use only CR123A batteries for optimal performance.

5.2. Ninu

Periodically inspect the sensor, especially the probes, for any dirt, dust, or corrosion. Clean the sensor with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the sensor in water.

5.3. Idanwo deedee

It is recommended to test the sensor periodically (e.g., monthly or quarterly) to ensure it is functioning correctly. Follow the testing procedure outlined in Section 4.

6. Laasigbotitusita

  • Sensọ ko so pọ:
    • Ensure the sensor is within range of your ZigBee hub.
    • Verify the battery is correctly installed and has sufficient charge.
    • Put your hub into pairing mode again and try re-initiating the sensor's pairing process.
    • If issues persist, try resetting the sensor (refer to manufacturer's specific reset instructions, if available, or remove and reinsert battery).
  • No alerts when water is detected:
    • Check the sensor's battery level in your smart home app.
    • Ensure the sensor is still connected to your hub.
    • Verify that your smart home app's notification settings for the sensor are correctly configured.
    • Clean the sensor probes to ensure no debris is preventing proper contact with water.
  • Àwọn ìkìlọ̀ èké:
    • Ensure the sensor is placed on a dry, stable surface.
    • Check for condensation or high humidity in the area that might be triggering the sensor.
    • Inspect the probes for any residue or damage.
