This section provides solutions to common issues you might encounter with your Generac generator.
Generator Will Not Start:
- Ṣayẹwo Ipele Epo: Ensure there is sufficient fresh gasoline in the tank.
- Ṣayẹwo Ipele Epo: Verify the engine oil level. The low-oil shutdown feature will prevent starting if the oil is too low.
- Battery Charge (Electric Start): For electric start, ensure the battery is fully charged. If not, use the pull start or charge the battery. The battery will charge while the generator is running.
- Ipò Ṣíṣe: Ensure the choke is in the correct position for starting (fully choked for cold starts, gradually opened as it warms).
- Sipaki plug: Inspect the spark plug for fouling or damage. Clean or replace if necessary. Check the spark plug gap (0.030 inches).
- Solenoid Issue: If the generator does not turn over at all, even with a charged battery, the starter solenoid might be faulty. This component controls power to the starter motor.
Video 3: Generac 8500 solenoid replacement. This video provides a detailed guide on troubleshooting and replacing the solenoid, a common issue preventing generator startup.
COsense® Technology Activation:
- If the COsense® indicator light illuminates and the generator shuts down, it indicates high levels of carbon monoxide. Immediately move the generator to an open, well-ventilated outdoor area. Do not operate it indoors or in enclosed spaces.
