  • IKILO: This unit is locked with no serviceable parts. The backup battery is not replaceable. If power is interrupted and the backup battery is dead or missing, maintenance and testing must be performed as indicated below. Exposure to high or low temperature or high humidity may reduce battery life.
  • PATAKI: This unit can only be interconnected with other compatible smoke, CO, and/or heat alarms up to a maximum limit of 18 total, of which 12 can be smoke alarms. Refer to the user's manual for detailed instructions.
  • PATAKI: This smoke alarm contains a maximum of 1.0 microcuries (37KBQ) of Americium 241, a radioactive material distributed under U.S. NRC License No. 12-23809-01E and is made in compliance with U.S. NRC safety criteria in 10CFR32.27. The purchaser is exempt from any regulatory requirements.

Follow these steps for proper installation of your First Alert SMI105-AC smoke alarm:

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and proper function of your smoke alarm:

  • Ninu: Gently vacuum or use clean compressed air to remove accumulated dust monthly. Avoid using water, cleaners, or solvents, as these may damage the unit.
  • Idanwo: Press the test button after installation, weekly, and after cleaning to check all alarm functions.
  • Rọpo: Replace the alarm unit at least every 10 years from the manufactured date. The alarm will provide an end-of-life warning (5 chirps every minute, 5 LED flashes) when it's time for replacement.
