2. Chain and Guide Bar Installation/Adjustment

The Saker Mini Chainsaw features a tool-free chain installation and tensioning system.

  1. Ensure the battery is removed from the chainsaw before proceeding.
  2. Locate the cover knob on the side of the chainsaw. Turn it counter-clockwise about one turn to loosen the cover, without fully removing it.
  3. Carefully place the chain around the guide bar, ensuring the cutting teeth are facing the correct direction (refer to the arrow on the guide bar or chainsaw body).
  4. Align the chain and guide bar with the sprocket and mounting slots on the chainsaw body.
  5. Once the guide bar and chain are seated, adjust the chain tension using the chain tension knob. Turn the knob to tighten the chain until it is snug but can still be pulled freely around the guide bar by hand. The chain should not sag from the bottom of the guide bar.
  6. Once tensioned, lock the cover knob in place by turning it clockwise until secure.
