The SM-136 can be powered in two ways:

  1. Agbara USB-C: Connect the included USB-C cable to the device's USB-C port and the other end to a 5V DC USB power adapter (not included) or a computer's USB port.

Inserting a Cassette Tape

Gently open the cassette compartment door. Insert your cassette tape with the open side facing upwards, ensuring it clicks into place. Close the compartment door firmly.

Locate the SD card slot on the side of the device. Insert the included 16GB SD card until it clicks into place. Ensure it is inserted correctly to avoid damage.

Playing Cassette Tapes

Recording to Cassette (via Built-in Mic)

The SM-136 allows you to record audio directly onto a cassette tape using its built-in microphone.

Converting Cassette to MP3 (to SD Card)

This method allows direct conversion without a computer.

  1. Ensure the 16GB SD card is inserted into the device.

  4. While the tape is playing, press the REC (Igbasilẹ) button. The LCD display will indicate recording to SD card.

  6. To access the MP3 files, remove the SD card and use the included USB reader to connect it to your computer.

Converting Cassette to MP3 (to Computer via Audacity)

For more advanced control over your digital conversion, use the included Audacity software.

  1. Install Audacity software from the included CD-ROM or download it from the official Audacity webAaye (www.audacityteam.org/download/).
  2. Connect the SM-136 to your computer using the provided USB-C cable.
  3. Open Audacity. Go to Eto ohun > Ẹrọ igbasilẹ and select the SM-136 (it may appear as "USBAUDIO2.0" or similar). If it doesn't appear, play a tape on the SM-136 and then go to Eto ohun > Rescan Audio Devices.
  4. Insert the cassette tape you wish to convert into the SM-136.

  6. On the SM-136, press the ERE button to start the tape.
  7. Once the tape has finished playing or you wish to stop recording, click the Duro button in Audacity and on the SM-136.
