CLEAN GLASS. Thoroughly clean the window, using a razor blade if necessary. Artscape films will adhere to a clean, smooth glass or plexiglass surface. The film will not adhere to frosted, textured glass, walls, or other window films.
MEASURE WINDOW/TRIM FILM. A 1/16” gap must exist between the film and the window frame (inside the gasket). Mark and trim directly on the film while on the backing using a straight edge and a sharp utility knife. For odd-shaped windows, make a paper pattern, then trace and cut.
WET GLASS. Add a couple of drops of liquid soap to a spray bottle with warm water and saturate the window. Applying generous amounts of the soapy solution will make the installation process easier & more successful.
REMOVE BACKING. Remove film from the backing starting in the corner. Protect the film from any debris. If film comes in contact with itself, carefully separate.
APPLY FILM. Place the shiny side of the film that was facing the backing onto the well-saturated glass and position it. Do not use any adhesives when applying; the film will remain on the glass until removed. Do not let the film touch the window frame or gasket; this can create air bubbles and can cause the film to fall off the glass.
SQUEEGEE. Spray the outside of the film with the same soapy water mixture. Starting from the center, use a squeegee to move out all air bubbles and water. If any bubbles remain, rub out to the nearest edge with a paper towel. When finished installing, clean up any remaining water with a paper towel or soft cloth.

- To ensure the product adheres to the window, we recommend the outside temperature be above 40ºF for the application process.
- Not recommended for use in light fixtures or near any artificial heat source.
- Film can be cleaned using any mild household window cleaner.
- Some window manufacturers’ warranties are void when window film is applied. Window film does not break glass.
- However, it can reveal or accelerate an inherent defect that is in the glass. Occurrences of breakage are rare.

- Film not adhering: Ensure the glass is thoroughly clean and free of any debris. The film will not adhere to frosted, textured glass, walls, or other window films. Make sure the glass is generously saturated with soapy water.
- Air bubbles remaining: Re-saturate the film surface with soapy water and re-squeegee from the center outwards with firm pressure. For stubborn bubbles, try to push them to the nearest edge.
- Film falling off: This often happens if the film touches the window frame or gasket. Ensure the 1/16 inch gap is maintained. Re-apply the film, making sure it’s centered and not touching the frame.
- Film sticking to itself: Carefully and slowly separate the film. Prevent this by handling the film gently after removing the backing.
