This manual provides essential information for the safe and effective installation, operation, and maintenance of the Eltako S09-12V Electric Impulse Switch. Please read these instructions carefully before beginning any work with the device. Retain this manual for future reference.
The Eltako S09-12V is designed for controlling electrical loads, typically lighting circuits, from multiple push-button locations. It operates by converting a short control pulse into a latched switching state (ON/OFF).
Safety Warning: Installation and maintenance should only be performed by a qualified electrician in accordance with national wiring regulations and safety standards. Always disconnect power before working on electrical installations.
2. Ọja Ipariview
The Eltako S09-12V is a compact, single-pole electric impulse switch designed for mounting on a DIN rail. It features one normally open (NO) contact, suitable for switching loads up to 8A at 230V AC. The device is controlled by a 230V AC impulse signal.

This image displays the Eltako S09-12V Electric Impulse Switch. It is a compact, blue and white module designed for DIN rail mounting. The front panel shows the Eltako brand logo, model number S09 and electrical specifications including 16A, 250V~, and 230V~. Screw terminals are visible at the top (A1, 1) and bottom (A2, 2) for electrical connections.

- Ensure the main power supply is disconnected before commencing any installation work.
- Rii daju pe voltage and current ratings of the switch are suitable for the intended application.
- Protect the circuit with appropriate overcurrent protection (e.g., circuit breaker).
3.2 Iṣagbesori
The Eltako S09-12V is designed for mounting on a standard 35mm DIN rail (EN 60715). Simply clip the device onto the DIN rail in a suitable distribution board or enclosure.

3.3 Onirin
Connect the impulse switch according to the wiring diagram below. Ensure all connections are secure and correctly terminated.
- Terminals A1 and A2: These are the control voltage terminals. Connect the 230V AC control signal (e.g., from push-buttons) to these terminals. A short pulse to A1/A2 will toggle the switch state.
- Awọn ebute 1 ati 2: These are the load circuit terminals. Connect the phase (L) of the power supply to terminal 1 and the load (e.g., light fixture) to terminal 2. The neutral (N) for the load should be connected directly to the load.
Note: For detailed wiring diagrams, refer to the product's technical data sheet or consult a qualified electrician.
4. Awọn ilana Iṣiṣẹ
The Eltako S09-12V operates as a bistable relay. Each time a short electrical pulse (230V AC) is applied to the control terminals (A1 and A2), the internal contact changes its state:
- If the contact is open, it will close.
- If the contact is closed, it will open.
This allows for simple ON/OFF control of a connected load from multiple push-button locations, as each button press sends a pulse to the switch, toggling the load.
5. Itọju
The Eltako S09-12V Electric Impulse Switch is designed to be maintenance-free under normal operating conditions. Periodically, it is advisable to:
- Inspect the terminals for secure connections.
- Ensure the device and its enclosure are free from dust and moisture.
- Check for any signs of overheating or damage.
Do not attempt to open or repair the device. Refer any issues to a qualified technician.

- Rí i dájú pé gbogbo àwọn ìsopọ̀ wayà náà péye tí wọ́n sì ní ààbò.
- Ensure the load is not exceeding the maximum current rating (8A).
- Check for a tripped circuit breaker or blown fuse in the circuit.
- Load remains constantly ON or OFF:
- Ensure that the push-button is not stuck in the closed position, causing a continuous control signal.
- Verify that there is no continuous voltage applied to A1/A2 from another source.
