3. Enrolling the Keypad with Your Alarm System
The 5828 is a wireless device and must be enrolled (programmed) into your compatible Honeywell alarm control panel (e.g., LYNX series) before it can function. Refer to your main alarm system's installation manual for detailed instructions on enrolling wireless devices. This typically involves:
- Putting the control panel into programming mode.
- Entering the keypad's serial number (located on the back of the unit).
- Assigning a zone or device type to the keypad.

- ARMED AWAY / ARMED STAY: Indicates the current arming mode.
- AC: Indicates AC power is connected (if using an optional adapter).
