5. Operating the Wiring Harness
Once installed, the CURT 56106 wiring harness provides a standard 4-way flat connector for connecting to a trailer. This connector transmits signals for:
- Left Turn Signal / Brake Light
- Right Turn Signal / Brake Light
- Tail Lights / Running Lights

To operate, simply plug the 4-way flat connector from your trailer into the corresponding connector on your vehicle's wiring harness. Ensure the connection is secure before driving. When not towing, use the provided dust cover to protect the connector from dirt, moisture, and corrosion.

Circuit Protected Converter Systems:
This product has been 100% tested under full load and provides internal circuit protection. If a short circuit or overload situation occurs in a trailer lighting circuit, the module is designed to shut the circuit down, allowing no current to flow until the issue is resolved.
- Ti o ba ti trailer lamps are working but the trailer lamps are not working, shut power off to the faulted circuit for a few seconds then try the circuit again.
- Ti lamps do not return to normal function, the fault has not been cleared.
Ti lamps light for a few seconds and then go off:
- Check ground wire on both the harness and trailer.
- Check for an overload condition (too many bulbs).
If the circuit fails to light:
- Check low vehicle fuse.
- Check for open or broken connections.
- Check for defective bulbs.
- Check ground wire on both the harness and trailer.

Note: Using a tester can help confirm system function. If problems persist, see your installer for corrective action. Do not use the product while towing if it is not functioning properly.
