The T605 radios come with rechargeable NiMH battery packs. To install, locate the battery compartment on the back of the radio. Use a coin or a flat-head screwdriver to open and tighten the two screws securing the battery compartment cover. Insert the NiMH battery pack, ensuring proper polarity. Close the cover and securely tighten the screws to maintain the waterproof seal. The radios can also operate using 3 AA alkaline batteries (not included) as an alternative power source.

Before first use, fully charge the NiMH battery packs. The included PSU with a "Y" cable allows you to charge both radios simultaneously using the dual micro-USB connectors. Connect the micro-USB ends to the charging ports on the radios (Figure 3) and the USB end to the PSU. Plug the PSU into a standard wall outlet. For on-the-go charging, use the 12V car charger with two USB ports.

It is recommended to charge the radios at least every three months to maintain battery health, even if not in regular use.

Press and hold the Power/Mode button to turn the radio on or off. Use the Up (+) and Down (-) buttons to adjust the volume. Note that the volume is on a digital scale from 0 to 5. If you experience low volume after submersion, try unplugging and re-plugging the charging port to equalize internal pressure, which can sometimes affect speaker volume.

The T605 features 22 channels and 121 privacy codes, offering 2,662 combinations to help you find a clear channel for communication. To communicate with other FRS radios, ensure you are on the same channel and privacy code.

Itumọ ti Flashlight

The radio includes an advanced built-in flashlight with both white and red LEDs. The white LED is useful for general illumination, while the red LED helps preserve night vision. The flashlight is water-activated, meaning it will automatically turn on if the radio is dropped in water, aiding in retrieval.

NOAA Weather Channels and Alerts

Stay informed about real-time weather conditions by tuning into one of the 11 weather channels or initiating weather alerts. This feature is crucial for emergency preparedness during outdoor activities. Note that NOAA radio service availability may vary by area.

iVOX/VOX Ọwọ-Ọfẹ isẹ

The iVOX/VOX feature allows for hands-free communication. When activated, the radio transmits when it detects your voice, eliminating the need to press the Push-to-Talk (PTT) button. This is ideal for activities where your hands are occupied, such as kayaking or hiking.

In an emergency, press and hold the dedicated emergency alert button. This will activate an audible alert on all radios within range, signaling distress and maximizing volume on receiving radios to ensure the alert is heard.

To maintain the IP67 waterproof rating, ensure the battery compartment cover is securely fastened with both screws tightened. Always ensure the micro-USB charging port cover is firmly closed when not charging. If the radio has been submerged, dry it thoroughly before opening any compartments or charging.

For optimal battery life, fully charge the NiMH battery packs before initial use and at least every three months. Avoid completely draining the batteries frequently, as this can reduce their overall lifespan. If using AA alkaline batteries, replace them when the low battery indicator appears.

Range Lopin

The communication range is highly dependent on terrain and conditions. Obstructions such as buildings, dense foliage, or mountainous terrain can significantly reduce range. For optimal range, use the radios in open areas with a clear line of sight. Electromagnetic interference can also affect performance.
