The LaCie 2big RAID offers two primary RAID configurations: RAID 0 and RAID 1. These can be configured using the step-by-step wizard during initial setup or via the LaCie RAID Manager software.
- RAID 0 (Striping): This mode combines both drives into a single large volume, maximizing storage capacity and performance. Data is written across both drives simultaneously. If one drive fails, all data on the volume will be lost.
- RAID 1 (Mimọ): This mode mirrors data across both drives, providing data redundancy. The total storage capacity is halved (e.g., 36TB becomes 18TB usable), but if one drive fails, your data remains accessible on the other drive. This offers protection against single drive failure.
Consult the LaCie RAID Manager software for detailed instructions on changing or verifying your RAID configuration.
6. Itọju
Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and reliability of your LaCie 2big RAID.
- Drive Replacement: The unit features hot-swappable IronWolf Pro enterprise-class drives. If a drive fails in a RAID 1 configuration, it can be replaced without powering down the unit. Refer to the LaCie RAID Manager for instructions on safe drive replacement and rebuild procedures.
