- Carefully screw the FA-SC59V antenna onto the connector at the top of the radio unit until it is finger-tight. Do not overtighten.

- Align the BP-296 Li-ion battery pack with the battery compartment on the back of the radio.
- Slide the battery pack into place until it clicks securely. Ensure the battery release latch is engaged.

Before initial use, fully charge the battery pack. The radio operates for over 12 hours on a full charge.
- Connect the BC-217SA/SE* AC adapter to the BC-235 desktop charger.

The IC-M37 is designed with IP57 dust and waterproof protection, capable of withstanding submersion in up to 1 meter of water for 30 minutes. After exposure to saltwater, rinse the radio thoroughly with fresh water and dry it completely to prevent corrosion.
2. AquaQuake Technology
This feature automatically clears water from the speaker grille after exposure to moisture, ensuring crisp audio quality. No special action is required from the user for this function to operate.
3. Itọju batiri
The BP-296 Li-ion battery pack is user-replaceable. To maximize battery life, avoid overcharging and completely discharging the battery. Store the radio and battery in a cool, dry place when not in use for extended periods.
