4.2 Connecting Hoses and Clamps

  1. Connect the appropriate test hoses to the low pressure inlet (14), high pressure inlet (17), and refrigerant/vacuum pump inlet (18) on the manifold gauge.
  2. Attach the other ends of the hoses to the service ports of the HVAC system.
  3. Plug the temperature clamps into the Clamp-on Temperature Probe Sockets (1).
  4. Securely attach the temperature clamps to the refrigerant pipes to measure pipe surface temperature.

  • Press the Power Button (11) to turn the device on or off.
  • Press the Backlit Button (9) to activate or deactivate the LCD backlight for improved visibility in low-light conditions.

  • Use the R+/R- Refrigerant Type Selection Buttons (6) to scroll through the built-in refrigerant database and select the refrigerant being used (e.g., R134A, R410A).

5.4 Superheat and Subcooling Calculation

The gauge automatically calculates superheat and subcooling based on the selected refrigerant and measured values.

  • After selecting the refrigerant, the display will show the calculated superheat (SH) and subcooling (SC) values.

  1. Connect the gauge to the system and pressurize it.
  2. Press the Function Button (3) to enter the leak test mode.
  3. The gauge will record the initial pressure and continuously monitor for changes.
  4. The display will show the leak time (HH:MM) and the pressure difference (ΔP) between the initial and instantaneous pressure values.
