Both devices require batteries for operation. Locate the battery compartment on the back of each device. Insert the specified AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity as indicated inside the compartment. Securely close the battery cover.
5.2 Multimeter HT118A Initial Setup
After battery installation, the HT118A is generally ready for use. Connect the test leads to the appropriate input jacks based on the measurement type. The LED Lightning Jacks will assist in correct placement.
5.3 Paint Thickness Gauge KOTCO2 Calibration
For accurate measurements, it is recommended to calibrate the KOTCO2 gauge before first use and periodically thereafter. The device is factory-calibrated, but user calibration modes are available:
- Iṣatunṣe Ojuami odo: Place the probe firmly and perpendicularly on the bare ferrous or non-ferrous calibration plate. Press the "ZERO" button to set the zero point.
- Multi-Points Calibration: Use the provided calibration films of known thickness (e.g., 50µm, 100µm) on the calibration plates. Follow the on-screen instructions or refer to the detailed calibration section in the full manual for precise steps to adjust the gauge for optimal accuracy across the measurement range.
Ensure the calibration plates and films are clean and free from dust or debris during calibration.
