    Why are my CVM-C4 multimeters reporting a communication error on my computer after working for three months?

    Niwon rẹ CVM-C4 units were working for three months and still provide manual readings, the issue is likely in the RS-485 communication chain rather than the meters themselves. A "Communication Error" on your computer typically indicates a break in the Modbus RTU network.

    Please troubleshoot the following steps based on the product manual:

    • Ṣayẹwo Awọn isopọ Ti ara: Inspect terminals 58 (A) and 59 (B) on all three new units. Ensure the RS-485 wiring hasn't come loose due to vibration or thermal expansion over the last 90 days.

    • PowerStudio / SCADA Settings: Since you are using a computer for recording, ensure your software (such as PowerStudio) hasn't had a port configuration change or that the RS-485 to TCP/USB converter hasn't failed.
    • Ìjánu: Ensure the communication cables are shielded and not running too close to high-power AC lines, which can cause data corruption over time.
