This manual explains how to operate the RTX SME VoIP DECT Headset (RTX8930) in generic mode, including power on/off, registration, basic call handling, volume control, and microphone muting.

Quick Setup & Use

This section describes how to switch on and off the RTX8930 headset and how to register the unit on an RTX 8660 SME VoIP system.

How to Switch the Headset On/Off:

 Yipada lori agbekariTo switch the headset on, press the AUX key. When the headset is on, the blue LED will blink fast for a short while until a signal is detected. When the headset locks onto a base, a voice prompt will announce “Headset subscribed” and the blue LED pattern will change to a blink with a 2 second interval.

 Registration Initial Registration

The first time the RTX8930 headset is to be registered on a base system, the unit should simply be switched on and it will enter registration mode automatically. Registration mode can be identified by observing that the blue LED is blinking fast.

The microphone is unmuted by pressing the IKU key again. A voice prompt announcing “Mute on” is played back when mute is activated. A voice prompt announcing “Mute off” is played back when mute is deactivated.

  • Headset doesn’t enter registration mode when re-registering: If you are cradled and charging, the blue LED will not start blinking fast in registration mode. Remove it from the cradle/charging and try again.
  • No confirmation after switching on: Lẹhin titẹ AUX, the blue LED should blink fast until a signal is detected. Once the headset locks onto a base, the voice prompt “Headset subscribed” should play and the LED should switch to blinking with a 2-second interval.
  • Volume can’t be increased/decreased: The headset provides higher frequency beeps when the volume cannot be adjusted further up or down.
