What should I do if the batteries in my HMF electronic safe die?
If the batteries are completely flat, the electronic keypad will not function. You must use the supplied emergency key to mechanically unlock the safe. Once open, locate the battery compartment (usually on the inside of the door) and replace all batteries with fresh AA alkaline batteries.
-
What is the default code for HMF electronic safes?
Many HMF electronic safes are shipped with a factory default code, such as '159'. It is critical to change this to your own personal user code immediately after setting up the safe to ensure security.
-
How do I reset the combination on my HMF key box or lock?
For mechanical combination locks, standard procedure involves setting the dials to the current code (default 0-0-0), moving the reset lever from position A to B, setting your new code, and then moving the lever back to position A. Refer to the specific manual for your model as steps may vary.
-
Where can I find the key number for my HMF product?
The key number is often engraved on the key itself or on the lock face. HMF recommends noting this number down immediately upon receipt and keeping it in a secure location separate from the safe, as it is required for ordering replacement keys in case of loss.
